What I meant to say is that social media is not just Facebook, but one option in the overall BIG social media picture. As you can see in the diagram below, Facebook is one social networking website that is part of the often overlooked, intricate social media landscape.

There are many categories, ranging from virtual worlds, to sharing websites, to microblogging, to consumer and business professional social networks.

Each of these concepts, or companies, have their own strengths, weaknesses and business usages.
