Four weeks prior to the Sydney Mayoral elections, I approached UMM to help me and my political party win the Sydney Mayoral election. I wanted to be seen as a legitimate alternative to the longstanding Sydney Mayor, Clover Moore—one of the most enduring politicians in Australian history. Clover was running for her third term as Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney.

UMM communicated my core values extremely effectively—I wanted to express myself as a champion of small business with the broader ambition to restore Sydney as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations.

The slim time frame in which to work made installing me as the new Mayor of Sydney virtually impossible, but on the back of UMM’s PR campaign, I became the first ever debutant campaigner to be elected to City of Sydney Council.

The UMM team is hardworking, strategically strong, thorough in terms of establishing the right editorial contacts and they get cut-through with the media.
